Sun Tonggang, one of the most
well-known and admired aviators in
China in the 1930s, was closely
related to aviation in Shandong, a
province that established its own
air force in 1925. It was equipped
with German BFW, Heinkel and
Junkers types, but also the unique
Oster aircraft that never flew.
